Matt Paint

Matt Enamel Paint
Think of a matt enamel finish as matt paint’s sturdy, and durable older brother. All of the pros of a matt finish but with solutions to the cons. This finish is easier to clean and requires fewer touch ups. When you’re looking to paint a kitchen, this finish would be the perfect fit.

Gloss Paint
Unlike the previous two finishes, gloss paint is shiny. Following matt, it’s the second most common type of interior wall paint. However, applying the paint requires more effort. Since it’s shiny paint, it’ll take a longer time to dry. Meaning that you need to plan your project to allow for enough time to let the paint dry between coats. Semi- Gloss Paint
As suggested in the name, semi-gloss paint is not as shiny as gloss paint. This type of paint is used on trim rather than walls. Eggshell Paint

Out of the shiny finishes, eggshell is the most suitable. It can be applied in a single coat and easy to apply. This finish also covers more surface area so you’ll get a little bang for your buck.

Satin Paint
This finish is a mix between a matt and gloss thus it creates a subtle sheen. Similar to matt enamel paint, it’s perfect for areas that will need to be cleaned regularly. But it’s still a shiny finish so it won’t help to hide imperfections.
